Following a career in fashion, Colleen loved to travel the world with her husband Reg. Her active lifestyle included running, playing sport, spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering at her local hospital. It was during a run and showing her grand daughter how to squat, that she tore the meniscus in her knee.
Her orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Andrew Tang helped her through 2 years of management of her left osteoarthritic knee, including physiotherapy, medication and use of injectables. By late 2019, the loss of function, pain and instability of the knee meant the only remaining option left to consider was a knee replacement. Of the surgical options discussed with Colleen a robotic assisted knee replacement was ultimately chosen.
